KAVA - The National Drink Of Fiji
Kava is the root of the Piper Methysticum, which is in the same family
as black pepper. In Fiji, Kava is known as yaqona. Kava is a tranquilizing,
non-alcoholic drink made from the dried powdered roots (waka) and
dried powdered stems (lewena) of the plant.
Kava has been grown in Fiji for many centuries.

A premium grade 100% kava that is a minimum of three years
old for maximum potency.

Kava is harvested by hand, sun dried and milled to a
fine powder. Kava has a slight peppery medicinal taste.
Depending on the strength of the beverage, one may
feel a slight numbing sensation in the mouth. Kava is
gentle and does not bring out aggressiveness.
